Apple is preparing an aggressive push into artificial intelligence, unveiling plans for personal robots, a more human-like Siri, smart displays, and advanced home-security devices. The strategy is aimed at reasserting the company’s leadership in consumer tech and redefining the smart home experience.
At the center of the initiative is a tabletop robot slated for release in 2027. Featuring an iPad-style display on a motorized arm, the device will mimic human gestures — tilting, swiveling, and displaying expressive animations inspired by Pixar-like characters. Apple also plans to launch a smart display in 2026, designed to act as a home hub with facial recognition, Siri integration, video calling, and intuitive controls for connected devices.
Siri will undergo a major transformation, evolving into a more conversational and visually engaging assistant. Animated avatars, potentially using Memoji or similar designs, will interact with users through large language models capable of understanding context and nuance. Apple has delayed some of these upgrades to ensure a polished, reliable product — a move consistent with its history of prioritizing refinement over speed.
Beyond personal assistance, Apple is developing AI-powered home-security cameras with facial recognition and automated responses, all integrated into its HomeKit ecosystem. The emphasis will be on privacy and seamless functionality, extending Apple’s AI footprint well beyond voice interaction. This aligns with CEO Tim Cook’s push for Apple to “win in AI” and expand its influence across both hardware and software.
The move positions Apple to compete more directly with Amazon and Google in the AI and smart home markets. By combining robotics, advanced AI, and its established ecosystem, Apple aims to turn everyday devices into intelligent companions — strengthening customer loyalty and opening new revenue streams.
