Las posiciones cortas y largas representan la dicotomía más básica del trading: los traders se posicionan a favor o en contra de que las acciones suban. Los traders e inversores pueden iniciar una posición larga (o una inversión o transacción clásica) cuando creen que el activo se apreciará en valor durante el tiempo de la transacción/inversión, o una posición corta cuando creen que el activo está sobrevaluado y esperan una caída en su precio. Una orden de compra permite a los traders beneficiarse del aumento de precios, mientras que una orden de venta ayuda a los traders a beneficiarse de la caída de precios.
Un comerciante compra una opción de compra cuando espera que el precio del activo aumente .
Si el precio sube por encima del precio de ejercicio, el comerciante obtiene ganancias.
Ejemplo: un comerciante compra una opción de compra de Tesla (TSLA) a $900 y, si el precio de las acciones sube a $1000 , obtiene una ganancia.
Un comerciante compra una opción de venta cuando espera que el precio del activo disminuya .
Si el precio cae por debajo del precio de ejercicio, el comerciante obtiene ganancias.
Ejemplo: un comerciante compra una opción de venta de Bitcoin (BTC) a $40,000 , y si BTC cae a $35,000 , obtiene una ganancia.
