China eleva los aranceles a productos estadounidenses al 125% y declara que futuros aumentos serían ‘irrelevantes’

En una escalada dramática de la guerra comercial entre EE.UU. y China, el 11 de abril de 2025, China anunció que aumentará los aranceles sobre las importaciones estadounidenses del 84% al 125%, con efecto inmediato. La medida llega como respuesta directa al reciente aumento de aranceles por parte de EE.UU., que elevó los suyos a los productos chinos al 145%.
El Ministerio de Finanzas de China afirmó que futuros incrementos serían “económicamente irrelevantes”, asegurando que el nivel actual basta para hacer que las importaciones estadounidenses prácticamente desaparezcan del mercado chino. Los productos afectados incluyen desde bienes agrícolas hasta componentes automotrices y electrónicos de consumo.
Los mercados reaccionaron de inmediato. Los futuros de acciones en EE.UU. cayeron y las bolsas chinas registraron fuertes pérdidas. Sectores expuestos al comercio como semiconductores, exportaciones agrícolas y retail de lujo mostraron debilidad.
Mientras tanto, el inversor de Shark Tank, Kevin O’Leary, se sumó al debate y propuso un arancel del 400% sobre las importaciones chinas, argumentando que es necesario para restablecer la equidad comercial para las empresas estadounidenses.
